    10         <p>This bibliographic dataset was compiled by staff and affiliates of the <a 
    11                 href="http://www.unc.edu/awmc/">Ancient World Mapping Center</a> and its 
    12                 <a href="http://pleiades.stoa.org">Pleiades Project</a>. The information 
    13             in it was drawn initially from citation handlists and other unpublished 
    14             working papers of the <a href="http://www.unc.edu/depts/cl_atlas/">Classical 
    15                 Atlas Project</a> (1988-2000). It was subsequently verified, updated and 
    16             expanded to improve individual records and to add new ones for more recent 
    17             works to be cited in Pleiades. Record content is checked and augmented with 
    18             reference to actual copies of the works cited, or (failing that and where 
    19             possible) to at least 3 different online library catalog systems or other 
    20             bibliographic reference sources. Moreover, some available information from 
    21             publishers' and authors' websites has also been consulted. Relationships 
    22             between works, reflected by links in the "full details" sections of individual 
    23             records, have sometimes been programmatically calculated on the basis of 
    24             textual information in the original records. You should check individual 
    25             citations for accuracy before using them. See the <a href="coverage.html" 
    26                 >coverage list</a> for an indication of the span of the records and the 
    27             state of the work, including retraction and supersession of records and 
    28             identifiers.</p>
