Some more random comments

I am not sure how the final project will look but it seems to me that there is much too much going on on the very opening page of our beta version ( http://icon.stoa.org/pleiades-beta ). It seems to me that we can drastically cut down on some of these links, tabs, navigation items. To my mind I do not see the difference between "Events" and "News" or between "Community" and "Members". I am wondering if it is necessary to have so many tabs and links. This, again it seems to me, is especially true of the "Community" tab, which when clicked leads to what appears to be a general information section. The inclusion of the tabs across the top (which I like) makes most of the links in the navigation box redundant. They take up space and worse, they provide a sort of information overload. Again, all of this may just be how the version stands as it is now and not as we hope it to be in the future (which make my comments useless I know.)

I am wondering if we have done any sort of story-boarding (like the movie business). I am wondering if it would be worthwhile to sketch out some possible examples of how the final site would look. (Or, perhaps this would not be a good use of our time; or perhaps we have already done it.) All of this is just suggestion of course and there may be (and probably are) good reasons for the set up as is, but I feel that there is just too much going on. It is easy to get lost.

On the other hand, there is a tab that absolutely needs to be added. We need an INSTRUCTION tab. I get to the opening page and am lost as what to do.
