Expert
A Pleiades UserRole
Experts correspond to the outside scholarly reviewers employed by the Classical Atlas Project; however, they are part of the PleiadesCommunity itself. They are initially drawn from the ranks of the SteeringCommittee and former Atlas Project participants, but will eventually be promoted from within the community.
PleiadesWorkFlow dictates that updates or insights advanced by Members be vetted before publication beyond the confines of the community. ContentEditors, as they carry out their responsibilities to identify Suggestions worthy of publication, may commission Experts to check facts and provide internal reviews to be shared with the commissioning Editor(s) and the relevant Member(s) (i.e., the author(s) of the item under review). Alternatively, any member with Expert credentials may spontaneously elect to review content that comes to their attention. In either case, these formal reviews are facilitated by the preparation of limited-access ExpertReviews, which are permanently stored by the system alongside the Suggestions?, Essays and Articles to which they pertain.
