Well this is exciting. Right, so I'll include my thoughts and questions and such in this journal. But before I do I just want to pre-apologize for any topics that I may pre-emptively call annoying or broken or some such thing. Much of this stuff is in test mode and I know that in some cases the features are only half finished, but despite this I think, I hope, it will be helpful, if I include all my impressions. So, here goes.
Regarding the Google Earth links. Fascinating and exciting. The "PIN" points are a bit annoying, especially at high altitude, but perhaps that is GE problem. Dots, I think, would be nicer.
Obviously this is an early edition and other features need to be added, eg. names in the navigation window at http://icon.stoa.org/pleiades-dev/atlas/map-65/folder_tabular_view.
Also, it is probably just my computer, but opening the map and tabular view is terribly slow. Anything we could do to make it go faster? cookies or something? I heard that word once being muttered by a computer guy .... I don't really know what is possible.
Also, in the map view... when you click on a point and the info box appears you have to click the same point to close it. If you click another point it will open up that new info box. To close the box you need to click the last info point clicked... would it be possible to close that box just by clicking on an empty space on the map?
Also, if you click off the map the map goes an odd blue colour, a bit annoying.
Still, overall, it is all very exciting.
Wicked Awesome to see how this thing is progressing. Can't wait to see more.

Thanks, Brian! I distilled these notes into tickets #103, #104, #105, #106, and #107. --SeanGillies
