Internationalization

Plone supports internationalization of its user interface, i.e. having multiple translations of the interface components that are automatically displayed depending on the browser settings (or established preferences) of a person visiting the website.

The Plone community is also actively developing and using a number of products that provide for language and script management, as well as content translation within Plone. The following products are under consideration for use by Pleiades:

• LinguaPlone
• PloneLanguageTool
• PloneTranslations

Interface Languages and Scripts

The following language/script combinations will be supported by Pleiades as time and resources are available. It is hoped that, as the PleiadesCommunity matures, its members will undertake additional "localizations."

• English (rationale: legacy data from CAP; sponsoring organization)
• Latin (rationale: widest possible single-language footprint for Classics scholars worldwide)
• ???
