we need a shapefile + tables export capability, parallel to our kml and georss capabilities
 * snapshots, rather than live: coordinated releases 

== archive format ==
we need an archive format

 * GML, KML, shape:  none fit our model
 * we'd rather not have to maintain the frankenformat
 * maybe the TEI will work: Tom to hack up some examples

== KML ==

Add:

Nominal error circle, with initially 0 visibility. Unobtrusive, dashed line or such. 10% fill?

Notes on accuracy in placemark description. Just a short paragraph, with link to details.

Use a single icon unique to Pleiades.

== locations ==

 * Add an "accuracy radius" attribute; this will be used for various purposes like adding accuracy "circles" in KML or conditioning proximity searches
 * Add a url attribute by which we can point at metadata for that location

== Search ==

We need an real search web service using OpenSearch with Atom feed results.
One use case is the ability to search by full or partial batlas citations
