Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC)

The Open Geospatial Consortium is "a non-profit, international, voluntary consensus standards organization that is leading the development of standards for geospatial and location based services." Its standards documents are very influential in forming the emerging geospatial information infrastucture in which Pleiades aims to play a unique role as a source of high-quality historical geographic data.
